Objective
The students will learn to recognize the various habitats of animals found around their homes. They will identify what an anole needs to survive and its relationship to the region. Upon completion the students will be able to construct a habitat complete with their very own anole, cricket and red worms. They will then complete a writing assignment to present their research on the findings and present a power piont to the class.

Description/What to do in the classroom
Students will brainstorm and document ideas of habitats using Inspiration Software.
Students will research various habitats and use TryScience.org as outlined by the teacher.
Students will construct their own anole, cricket and red worm habitat.
Students will use the writing process to complete a report from their research.
Students will use power point to present their findings to the class.

What are the different types of habitats? What is needed for animals to survive? thrive? What are the parts of the food chain? life cycle? How does different factors affect a habitat? What is camouflage? What are the roles of producers and consumers? What is the food chain in the habitat?

The students love to create their very own habitat for the anole. They enjoy observing the crickets and watching the lizard hunt.

Assessment
The student will display their knowledge of the habitat of the redworm, crickets and anole by creating a PowerPoint that will be scored using a rubric. They will then present their PowerPoints to the class along with any research they conducted using the trysience.org website.
