AAAS Project 2061- A long-term AAAS initiative to advance
literacy in Science, Mathematics, and Technology. Find useful resources
and information on Learning Goals, Curriculum Materials, Testing &
Assessment, Teaching & Learning, and Family & Community.
NSTA Institute- The NSTA website is a valuable resource for teachers at
all grade levels. The NSTA Institute has online learning
partnerships with numerous organization including the American
Museum of Natural History, the JASON Academy and National Teachers
Enhancement Network (NETN). Teachers can use this website as a
one-stop shop for online learning.
NSTA 2004
Conventions- NSTA conventions are open to
members and nonmembers. These conventions offer teachers the
opportunity to collaborate with peers and explore new science topics
with science education leaders.
ED.gov-
The U.S. Department of Education website offers a lengthy list of
federal professional development resources for teachers at all
levels. For example, the Teacher-to-Teacher Initiative allows
teachers to sign up for workshops, email newsletters and peer round
table discussions about improving education in U.S. schools.
Annenburg
Foundation- The Annenberg Foundation in
partnership with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting provides
lesson plans and teacher professional development resources indexed
by grade level and subject area.
Eisenhower National
Clearinghouse- The ENC.org website
offers teachers assistance in creating a learning plan,
incorporating standards, finding grants and locating learning
resources for K-12 teachers.
PBS
Teacherline- PBS TeacherLine provides
online professional development through facilitated modules that
meet state and local standards. This program offers a collaborative
learning environment with exemplary Internet-based resources.
